It's a month and a half since I made that promise for the Heavy Assault Tank pics being published "in a few days" but the summer is supposed to be slow, ain't it?
So here they are: Renders of both variants of the Heavy Assault Tank. The second variant, the one with the Plasma Annihilator actually was a bitch to make because for some reason I just couldn't balance the weight and volume of the model correctly. I hope at the end it came out right.
There is also the updated Marhaf Fighter. The first installment of this miniature featured a bubble pilot canopy and although it didn't look bad, lacked the "ooomph" that I could see on the model without it. It took me some time to understand that not having a protruding canopy would not be forbidden in a sci-fi world and I should thank all my friends who pointed that out to me. The model's shape really shines without the nuisance of the protruding canopy (present in its earlier installment, if you want to see it drop me a line) which destroyed its both sleek and aggressive outline. So I'm really happy with how this design finally turned out.
These two submissions also signify a change in the way I am going to be portraying any of my designs in the future: They will be black and white and smaller in size instead of big and coloured. I felt this change was necessary in order to help everyone understand that my work is about designing sci-fi wargames miniatures and not the production of visual artwork. Those two trades are so fundamentally different in their requirements and their intended results that it needs to be clear what it is about. Only in this way can people accurately judge about if what they see is likeable or not.
So, thanks for reading this, I hope you like the miniatures, any comments welcome!
