Hammerhead Heavy Tank for the Progenitor faction of Plasmablast Games miniatures. Texturing by He Miao.
You can purchase 1/300 scaled metal-cast miniatures of this model here:

The detail of the model may look a bit coarse but this was on purpose because of the restrictions of rapid prototyping technology that had to be taken into account during the period this was designed (2008)

the tanks main cannon looks like it can be a Gauss Cannon or Rail Gun, personally i'd class it as an MBT (Main Battle Tank) this tank looks too small and under-armed to be a heavy tank, but i overpower my heavy tanks with grinders, Flame trowers, Ion Cannons and Thermobaric Missiles so take no notice of me!

Yes, this gun is intended to portray some electromagnetic coil-type of gun. It's called "heavy" because if you place it next to, say, an M1 Abrams tank the Abrams looks 20-25% smaller. Don't be fooled by the detail being coarse and not too tiny- this model was designed with Rapid Prototyping restrictions in mind which by then were quite imposing, like minimum feature width 0.2mm and at some instances even more so (depending on orientation). Please remember, all my models are intended to be produced as metal miniatures in 1/300 scale.

Very good texture, nicely shaped turret and side skirts. Only the gun is too much sci-fi.

Thank you for your comment. Credit for the texture actually goes to HeMiao, an artist who actually I've forgotten his website since this is more than 4 years old.

About the rest of the tank: Actually I was aiming for a "sci-fiy" look but not too radical so if the gun was not anything new then it would have been too conventional. The shape of the turret was the most worked-upon element of it, its arrow shape being finalised after maybe too many hours of tinkering, obviously at the expense of detail which is clearly lacking. At least I think I've got the volumes balance right, which is the most important thing for 1/300 scale. ;)

Looks like the Russian Black Eagle tank on crack! :) Whatever comes out of that cannon, I want to be far away!

do have to ask if the tuirret will be rotatable and if it is how are you going to pull that off in such a small scale?

Yes, the turret is rotatable because it is cast as a separate piece. The scale is no problem because the guy who casts the models is a highly skilled professional :) (It has been available for purchase for about 2 years now)
