The shiny surface finish is actually a by-product of the program I use which is not a graphics program but an industrial design one and renders are made with pre-made materials and scenes.
Just my opinion.
In battle / weaponry, you never want to give your opponent any indication that you are about to destroy / kill him. One effectively does so discretely and with covertness ... hence the ubiquitous use of camouflage, neutral colour tones (greys, blacks, muted earth colours) that blend in well with the environmental template that surrounds us.
Non-reflective is the way to go and the way to ensure that one lives to see another day or battle.
I think you would like it.
The tank you have designed would seem to survive even with the change in technology. I suppose it still all comes down to chance.
Great work, hope to see more

choose either "Progenitors" or "Orbital Combine". What you'll see are real, metal 1/300 scale miniatures painted with acrylic colours.
About Sttheo's work, yes, I'm aware of that, pretty top-notch stuff.
